How can I stop West Asset Management from calling me?

Question by Steve B: How can I stop West Asset Management from calling me?
I dunno but from last couple of months I am getting call from West Asset Management Inc. They are repeatedly calling me asking for an individual whom I don’t know. I have requested them to remove my number from their database in the past, but they haven’t taken any step about it. What can I do to stop them from calling me? I’m losing peace over it. Please help!!

I had this problem and the answer is really simple. When they call You next time say You want to be DELATED from their calling list. They use random numbers but all are in database, and You can block Your number on request.

West Asset Management is a third party collection agency. It buys junk debts from the original lenders and then pursues the borrowers for money. Now, if you are being contacted by this company for another individual, you are required to inform its office about it and get your name removed from the record. It might have happened that the other person had used you number at the time of taking loan in which he defaulted afterwards. The account then had passed to the West Asset Management for collection.

Try writing them a letter stating this issue. I’ve found the following address of the company where you can contact them. Hope you’ll find it useful. Also use the certified mail delivery system to send the mail. This way you’ll come to know if they have accepted the letter or not.

    West Asset Management, Inc.
    P.O. Box 2348
    Sherman, TX 75091-2348

I’ve found an informative discussion regarding this company in an online debt community debtconsolidationcare.com. The members there have discussed about the various methods to deal with the malpractices of collection agencies. Visiting this community may help you to know more about the CAs.

    Here is something to try.

Next time they call tell them you are not the party they seek, don’t know him/her, etc. and then tell them to put you on their “Do not call list” because the next time they call you will report them to the FTC and they will be subject to a fine of up to $ 11,000.

I am sure they won’t believe you. So the next time they call contact the FTC.

    Hope this helps
